The BIG ONE gets even bigger. The 5th annual ClassicParts.com C10 Nationals presented by Chevrolet Performance rolled into Texas Motor Speedway and as usual it did not disappoint. Despite a wet forecast all week – including 80% chance of rain Saturday morning – the event didn’t have any rain, and the weather was fantastic! Events this size cannot be canceled or postponed due to weather, so the show went on, and what a show it was! There were almost 1,700 registered trucks on hand, a record number of trucks for this event. If the forecast would have been better, it’s possible that it could have been pushing a couple thousand!Â
As the promoters say, the C10 Nationals truly is more than just a truck show. We see that tagline used a lot, but this all-GM truck event really is quite unique. It features authentic NASCAR rides on the speedway, an Autocross with a ride-along program, burnout contest, dyno challenge, drag racing, swap meet, huge all-automotive vendor midway, and some of the nicest awards of any event. They even give a truck away during the awards ceremony!
There are so many different styles of trucks at this event, no two are alike. It’s also one of our favorite events to find and shoot feature trucks. It really brings out the best of the best in trucks and builders. The winner of the coveted C10 of the Year was a truck out of California. Dave G. the owner, skipped over other large automotive events in his back yard, to debut his truck at this event. That says something!
If you’ve never been, put this Texas event or one of their other two events in Nashville or Salt Lake City on your MUST ATTEND list!
