The Spring ‘24 edition of the Pro Touring Truck Shootout rolled into Bowling Green, Kentucky’s Beech Bend Raceway Park on April 12-13, keeping the ball rolling from the first event back in 2020 by Founder Arnie Gonzalez.
This bash gets a big boost from top-notch suppliers like Gandrud Chevrolet, Summit Racing, JJR Automotive & Performance, Wilwood, AMD, Rustic Nail & Co, Belltech, Forgeline, Bowler Performance Transmissions, BFGoodrich, Brian Tooley Racing, and OBS Chevy Racing, showing everyone this scene ain’t going anywhere.
The spring PTTS brought back the usual suspects: Autocross, Speed & Stop Challenge, and Drivability Cruise. And hey, they even tossed in drag racing for kicks. With 5 competition classes (Outlaw, Manufacturers Class, T1, T2, T3, and Novice), anyone could jump in on the action.
But the real deal at this shindig was the “Ultimate Truck” challenge. To snag that sweet title, a rig had to step up in the Autocross, cruise like a champ in the Drivability Cruise, stop on a dime in the Speed & Stop Challenge, strut its stuff in the Truck Show, and tear it up on the drag strip.
And you know the deal, folks and fans were all about showing off their rigs at the “Truck Show,” making for one solid turnout at the spring bash.
