The latest Midwest Truck Nationals did not disappoint! I have to admit, I make my way to a lot of shows during the course of a year. Most of the trucks I see these days are sitting as close to the ground as possible. Air ride, tucking, laying frame, etc. It’s very popular. But don’t ever let that trend overshadow the lifted masses of the truck world! As a kid, I cut my truck teeth lusting after lifted squarebodies on 44” Ground Hawgs. 8 year old me was a full-blown member of the Stomper generation and wanted my trucks to look just like my favorite plastic AA-powered miniatures.
The Midwest is still overflowing with that style of truck and I still get googly-eyed when I see a tilting nose or triple roll bar covered in KC Hi-Lites. As far as I’m concerned, Richmond Indiana’s Midwest Truck Nationals features the best display of larger-than-life squarebodies and C10’s that you’ll find. Put it on your must-see list for next year.
