In the wide world of GM trucks, November is the month of reckoning to disciples of the Bowtie and GMC brotherhood. For some, Dino’s Git Down is the grand finale of a year filled with incredible truck events across the country. For others, it’s a time to debut new iron that they’ve had in the works all year long. Whatever the reason, for many, the Git Down is simply the event of the year and the sun-drenched, late fall weather in Glendale, Arizona, (just outside Phoenix) is a welcome treat for those of us who are accustomed to frost and snow this time of year.
This year, we took the opportunity to make the long haul to the Git Down from far-away Ohio. We loaded up our trailer with our CK Truck Mag circus tent and our OBS shop truck, and hit the road for Northern California to meet up with our homies and cruise south with them to Phoenix. Once we landed at our destination at Provost Customs in Woodland, CA, the troops from all points north (even Canada!) converged and began the journey to the show. By the last leg of the route, the posse had grown to seemingly hundreds of trucks. It was a spectacular sight to see trucks of all years, colors, and styles from Oregon, Washington, NorCal, Socal, Idaho, and Nevada rolling together down I-10.
Once we made it to the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale and got everything set up, it was game on. 2000+ trucks, thousands and thousands of spectators, and some of the best folks in the automotive world made the 2021 edition of Dino’s Git Down one for the history books. Dino, Terry, and their entire family and crew do an outstanding job of putting together the party of the year. Kudos! We can’t wait to see you all again this coming November.
