It’s safe to say that Waxahachie, Texas, is one of my favorite places to be. And it’s definitely one of my favorite backdrops for a truck show. What’s not to love? Aside from the trucks that roll into town every September, this li’l town just south of Dallas has two of my favorite culinary establishments: Matt Pittman’s legendary Meat Church and the infamous Two Amigos Taqueria. If you make it into town for a future edition of “TV” Terry Hill’s C10’s in the Park, make it a point to stop for breakfast at Two Amigos and head around the corner to the ‘Church to satiate your inner BBQ child. You won’t be mad at it. And if you’re still hungry, pop into Babe’s Chicken over in Cedar Hill for a treat.
Alright, enough rambling about the touristy stuff. Let’s get down to biz. You may know the man/myth/legend Terry Hill from his role on Shorty’s Dream Shop, or maybe from his infamous squarebody, Ole Blue, or maybe Squarebody USA. Or maybe you just know him from the truck event. Regardless, Terry and his family are responsible for throwing this banger smack dab in the middle of town, in picturesque Getzendaner Park.
Their 2023 event was massive! The venue was sold out with well over 1,000 trucks, tons of spectators, and plenty of your favorite C10 parts and merch vendors. After a brief shower passed by during Friday’s vendor setup, the weather was spectacular for the event.
If you have the opportunity to make it to this show, by all means, do it! It’s on our schedule, and we can’t wait for the next one!
