Our experience in Laredo back in March can be summed up as “Four Diamond.” The people, the town, the hotel, and the show were all top-notch. The Estos Vatos Hot Rod Club in Laredo, TX, now in its second year of hosting this event, embodies a drama-free environment focused on fun times and cool rides. Many of the Estos Vatos members attend other events throughout the year, contributing to their reputation as some of the nicest people in the community.
Our stay at the historic LaPosada hotel, overlooking the river with the border of Mexico, enhanced our family vacation during spring break. As enthusiasts of truck shows, we were delighted to attend this one, which kicked off Friday night with a cruise-in to a local Grease Monkey.
Organizers such as Martin, Mr. George, Chito, Mr. Fred, and others took a chance a year ago by hosting the show on the square in downtown Laredo. This year, the event attracted even more vehicles and attendees, creating a friendly atmosphere filled with food, music, cerveza, and cool hot rods. While the show welcomed all vehicles, trucks made up a significant (75%+) portion of the turnout.
Featuring awards, three live bands, a DJ, food trucks, and vendors, the event offered a variety of entertainment options. I also had the opportunity to savor the famous ALA Burger on the square, thanks to a couple of guides who showed me around.
For those seeking a sense of family and a shared passion for trucks, this event is a must-add to your calendar.
