Battle in Bama and OBS Nationals rolled into Talladega Superspeedway May 28–29, 2025, and it didn’t take long to see what would be happening all weekend. The smell of detail spray and tire shine filled the air and those who know, simply knew what was up.
Wednesday started early with vendors setting up, swap meet spaces filling in, and RVs carving out weekend territory. When the gates swung open and the public poured in, drive-thru judging kicked off right away, and the autocross course woke up with trucks hammering down, locking up brakes, and diving into corners. MiniTruckin’ Boulevard and Pro Street Takeover delivered plenty of flash, while the VIP Garage and C10 Million Dollar Row showed off the heavy hitters of the GM crowd.
Saturday, Master of Ceremonies, Tim Strange stepped up with the traditional “Gentlemen, Start Your Engines,” and the day pushed forward at full throttle. Mid-morning brought builder and manufacturer interviews, and the conversations had plenty of straight talk about trucks, events, and what’s next for the scene.
By early afternoon, the burnout contest had the crowd stacked three deep along the infield. Engines screamed, tires lit off, and the air filled with smoke and the smell of rubber. It was loud, it was rowdy, and it was exactly what everyone came for. By 2:30, judging wrapped up and the autocross closed down. Crews cleared the track, and at three, registered trucks got the rare chance to put laps down on Talladega’s high banks. For a lot of folks, that alone was worth the trip.
The awards hit at six, hardware went home with the best of the best, and by evening, the speedway was quiet again. Battle in Bama at Talladega brought their “A” game. It was about slick paint, polished aluminum, horsepower, tire smoke, and proving your truck could stand tall at one of the most famous events in America.
